In this video Maria explains her work as a sustainability strategist, consulting, providing advice and mentoring to various projects and initiatives. Maria identifies the key role technology, finance and social innovation are taking in shaping the building and construction, and food industries. She explains how to make decisions and operate during times of uncertainty where embracing change and engaging authentically with employees is important. In relation to start-ups she stresses the significance of innovative concepts that incorporate a social and environmental purpose and investing in smart ideas that can scale-up. Finally she offers advice for developing management skills and capabilities that are essential for being successful in the start-up and sustainable innovation space. This video was produced by Dr Jochen Schweitzer and Dr Melissa Edwards with support from the Management Discipline Group at the UTS Business School.
